Thomas J. Reitz
Tom is the Supervisory Senior Resident Agent (SSRA) of the Orange County Resident Agency (OCRA) and is the Supervisory Special Agent for the Complex Fraud Squad in Orange County (OCRA-2). Tom supervises a squad of 11 Special Agents investigating mortgage fraud, bank fraud, bankruptcy fraud, investment fraud schemes, and corporate frauds in the Orange County area. Tom works closely with the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the Orange County D.A.’s office in obtaining prosecution of larger, multi-state fraud schemes.
Mr. Reitz will present the topic "Who Would Fall for That?" - Scams That Worked which are war stories from the front lines of scams, however reasonable or ridiculous, that made a lot of money for the perpetrators.
Ellyn Lindsay, AUSA
Ellyn Marcus Lindsay is an Assistant United States Attorney for the Central District of California, and has been so employed for 28 years. Prior to that time, she was an Honor Graduate at the Department of Justice in Washington, DC. AUSA Lindsay has been prosecuting white collar crime since 1992, and since 1999 has specialized in prosecuting international mass marketing fraud directed at America’s senior citizens and other vulnerable populations. AUSA Lindsay also specializes in the prosecution of investment scams and securities violations.
Ellyn's topic will be "Who Would Prosecute That?" - How We Bring Perpetrators to Justice.
