Wendy is the former Chief of the Civil Fraud Section for the United States Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California in Los Angeles. She brings to Navigant 27 years of Department of Justice experience, 19 of which were primarily devoted to the civil prosecution of healthcare fraud and False Claims Act enforcement. 

Wendy's primary focus is assisting and strategizing with law firms and their healthcare industry clients in performing internal investigations in response to federal, state, and regulatory investigations. She builds and manages teams of experts to address allegations raised in False Claims Act, qui tam, healthcare, and white collar actions. 

Wendy is a sought after speaker at conferences nationwide on healthcare fraud, compliance, the federal False Claims Act, and qui tam actions. She has received numerous awards from the Department of Justice and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Jennifer focuses her practice on the defense of white collar criminal litigation, health care fraud and government investigations. Her experience includes the representation of corporations and individuals in defense of allegations of antitrust price fixing, off-label marketing of a drug, Medicare reimbursement issues, violations of the Federal Anti-Kickback Statute, insider trading, and stock option backdating. Jennifer has also succeeded in obtaining the parole of a pro bono client believed to be falsely convicted and incarcerated for more than fifteen years. 

Prior to joining McDermott, Jennifer was a litigation associate at a law firm in Los Angeles where she represented corporations in general commercial disputes. She also held a legal internship with the Innocence Project in New York City, where she fought to exonerate factually innocent inmates through DNA evidence. 

Jennifer received her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School, where she served as President of the American Constitution Society for Law and Policy. She received her B.A. in psychology from the University of Michigan with high distinction and Phi Beta Kappa. 

Jennifer is admitted to practice in California and before the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Central Districts of California.
