The LA and IE ACFE Chapters are pleased to present Emerging Trends in Fraud Investigations presented by the FBI.

Presenters:

Forensic Accountant Sim Gill serves in the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) San Francisco Field Office and is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS). She is imbedded with the White-Collar Squad which is responsible for investigating complex financial crimes. She also works on investigations involving Transnational Organized Crimes (TOC) networks.

John Dougherty graduated from Bowling Green State University in 2020, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a specialization in Accounting and Data Analytics.  John has been a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) since 2022. John has been a forensic accountant with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for 5 years with the San Francisco division.  John is currently embedded on a complex financial crimes squad and helps with a wide variety of investigations.

Marcy Ammirato works as a forensic accountant with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). She holds a license as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). With the FBI, Marcy has worked various violations including white collar crime, counterintelligence, violent and organized crime, and cybercrime. Currently, Marcy focuses her efforts on violations involving cryptocurrencies.
