What is Business ID Theft? What Colorado is seeing in this genre with both current and historical trends. How do you detect Business ID Theft and place attribution to the fraudsters as they layer and hide their tracks. What do these fraudsters do with a "Business name" and gain financially, and finally how victim business owners are affected.

Biography: Ralph A. Gagliardi is an Agent in Charge at the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.  He has worked in law enforcement for over 33 years and is a subject matter expert in complex and organized crime investigations including: high-tech, identity theft/fraud and cybercrime. Ralph has experience with these crimes working with statewide, national, and international jurisdictions. Ralph assists in the development of policy and legislative efforts relative to identity theft, fraud, and cybercrime, and has been appointed to numerous Boards and Commissions with the most recent being appointed to the Colorado Governor’s Cyber Security Council and the Fraudulent Business Filings Working Group.  He is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and a member of the National Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
